AC Shadows Introduces Surprising AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising crossover event that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Uncovered
According to the authorized release, "A mysterious encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of prohibited rituals and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The narrative presents a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret cult.
The adventure concentrates on "strange trials and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Content
This update also introduces the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime properties. The series formerly featured a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that obviously echoed the popular series One-Punch Man.
